Anak mit putus tiga tunjuk apin ngeleda

An Iban headings "for a child who lost 3 fingers"...(I think so, may be my Iban/Dayak friend could elaborate further...)may be many of you have not read a recent shocking news on the day of Moon Cake Festival in Bintulu, for which I am so scare, angry and at the same time value more of my children...this unfortunate boy is only 6 years old (own nephew to this uncle - the monster) that was held as hostage, tortured and cut off 3 of his little fingers (and threw at the door - to the police) in a 16 hours stand off with police at his relative's house..following injuring his wife after heated argument. The boy is in critical condition..due to loss of a lot of blood and also suffer head injuries due to the poking of knife on the head by the monster.

When I imagine of the little fingers, the mercy scream by the boy...I am totally outrage on this guy's insane behaviour who was believed to be under the influence of drug.

This was only few days after I read on Nurin's kidnap (8 years old and death..how she was sexually molested with a cucumber/brinjal ..believe died due to internal injuries and bacteria infection(bacteremia)...I was already mad about such crazy incident...this is a monster, so need to be skinned alive...may be the suggestion by Islamic rule in Kelantan should prevails.

What is happenning to our society ? Is it the same like before or just because our "media like" mind/attitude is more exposed and accomodative to the news coverage ?

What sort of protection can we have ? or what prevention can we have ? One wise man said..."Prevention is better than cure". I think so..

So may be we would need to do more community awareness to bring real sanity to those being oppressed or undergone similar unfair treatment in their early childhoods. I pray for more sanity in our community and hope such incidents will not happen.

Power Of 4

I have got this idea from our friend, Pat and would think that all of us here could share ours experiences etc in our blog. Here it goes.....

A Wonderful Night Indeed !

On 21st evening, I was still conducting my weekly sales meeting...going through the usual drills till 6.30pm. My mood is jolly good (I guess my team members were thankful...though the sales figure is still sluggish as it is towards the last week of Sep 2007 but they didnt know that I am having a Reunion party with my fellas buddies)

Well, by 6.45pm, I was already at the club, checking the last details with Seng Yaw where I assigned him to take care of the collection...(thanks Ah Yaw)

One by one...our buddies starts to appear...a total of 25 turn up (another new record..previously was 20)...though earlier we were expecting 29...

Everyone was very happy to see each other (I hope so...lah..may be not everyone, hoh Heroes...), jokes were exchanged (especially in middle table (table 2)), updating/backups of current happenings were seems to be main focus. Heroes, Ah Tee and I were doing the hopping actions just to ensure everyone is doing fine (actually Heroes, only moves from table 3 to table 2, then stuck there till final dish for some reason...). During the interacting session, I found out and salute great commitment from Marx Emmanuel who actually drove all the way from Sibu to Kuching just to be with us...wow, that is a great sacrifice and support ! Hansac..WarHammer, juts hope you were like him !

2.5 hours seems to be like 20 minutes only...the tasty food seems to have no kick as compared to the companions of old buddies..but I let the rest to be "testified" by those attendees...

Before calling the night, of course we have our group photo as follow (actually few sets were taken, but these two group photos are the best - beside to cater Brian & Peter whom seems to be only in one of the photos ;
From L to R
Front Row : Thadeus, Ivy, Audrey, Magdalen, Kok Sey @ Heroes, Paul @ Ah Tee, Mark Emmanuel
Second Row : Tiong Kiong, Audrey’s hubby, Sii How Hui, Cheah Wei Chuan, Anthony Lai
Third Row : Ka Hong, Martin Wong, Margaret Phang, Wong Chun Ai, Lau Tee Too
Back Row : John Wong, Abigail (John’s daughter), Caroline (John’s wife), Bartholomew, Peter Jim, Puong Ing, Yii Chiong, Stephen Yii

Brian Sim - ahhr...he is just beside Ah Too & Puong Ing.

Meanwhile, Anthony Ting & Seng Yaw left early...so i put in thumbnails photos to update all on how they look like at the present moment...

In fact, after the official dinner is off, as some of us still do not want to let go...we have proceeded with the "wild-wild" things...bar hopping...photos were also taken for remembrance...(muahahaha..ha.. influenced by evil laughter !). Should have pulled the girls along...(save cost...:) )

Instead calling the one night stand off, few of us embraced the morning call...till 3 a.m not after drying up glasses, jugs, bottles (next round..by drums)...ooh..la..la..(satisfaction smile)

Now...let the "war" start ...

@ oops..the words starts !

Suhardy's Jr

Sweet Baby BoyA new baby boy,
so tiny and sweet,
Makes hearts overflow and life complete.
From the time he is just hours old,
You feel his charm and spirit unfold.
There will be jammies and blankets of blue,
Overalls, teddies and adorable shoes.
There will be trucks and all kinds of toys,
Clanging and banging and all kinds of noise.
There will be chubby legs to chase,
Blocks to build and cars to race.
There will be handprints on walls and doors,
There will be dirt and messes galore.
Hold his hands, memorize his face,
Savor his kisses, remember his embrace.
Delight in his giggles,
join in his fun,
Tuck him in tight when each day is done.
A baby boy is a dream come true,
Life's greatest miracle given to you.
Fill your days will all the joy,
Brought to you by your bundle of boy.

We Could Be Together

The other day I was driving when suddenly I remembered a song I had not heard in a long time - We Could Be Together by Debbie Gibson. Now, don't ask me why it suddenly came to my mind, I don't have an explanation for it :)

This song was one of the hits of 1990 and a real favourite of mine, I vividly remember doing my Add. Maths homework while listening to it. I was doing my A Levels in Sunway College then.

So friends, I present below, We Could Be Together (Campfire Mix):-

To those going for the Kuching reunion, enjoy yourselves and make sure you post plenty of photos and videos after the fact! Ta.

Happy Birthday, Warhammer!!

Hey all, can you all join me and say Happy Birthday to Warhammer today.

WH, I hope you're not going to deny your birth date just for the sake of keeping your ID unknown. How often do you have a bunch of friends wishing you birthday wishes....and I'd be very sad if I took the effort to remember your birthday just to have you say it's not (unless it's really not lah...)

Many Happy Happy Returns of the Day! Stay young!

Remember this????

Accidently I found this foto inside my drawer.

Heheheh..... Is this the "Red Army" or the "Maroon Army"?

Hugging....not quite an Asian Culture

Since some of the potential attendees of the up-coming "Cover Version" reunion in Kuching is going to come (or not to come) based on how much hugging activities will be happening at the event....I thought I might as well start the week off by putting up a post on the subject.

Like Stephen, I haven't hugged my mum for ages. Nor my brother or sister. Mine is quite a pro-western kind of family, but still not western enough to openly show affection amongst family members through hugging each other. I think it's quite a sad thing that the old Asian culture doesn't have a habit of hugging....I'm sure that's going to be a thing of the past when the Kch reunion falls into place! By the way, am I correct to say that Malay families hug each other more than the Chinese do?

Personally, I've only come across people who are very open to hugging as a gesture of affection in the last 4-5 years. Which also means that I've hugged/been hugged (by people who are not family) more in the last 4-5 years compared to in the last 20 years. And it's one of the most effective natural energy and morale booster around. I'm glad to say that I've never stopped hugging my nephews - they're now aged 21, 19 and 15. And the same goes for my husband too, we usually start our day with a hug. One 3-sec hug a day strengthens a marriage in leaps and bounds.

Many years back, Leh Ning & I both observed that the guys do a lot of "touching" as a bonding gesture when they meet up after a long while...and by "guys", we mean YOU lah. You pat each other on the shoulders and your hands give each other's back a good rub. Then, when you're seated you give each other a good slap on the thigh - pap! Are we right or not? Strangely, the girls refrain from ANY kind of physical contact when we meet up. Hmmm....I'm sure you guys would have much to say on this..

If you're not yet a hugger, better start practising!
