MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christmas songs were played everywhere, shopping arcades, hotels, offices, home and even in our cars for the past few weeks. Even though with the current economy situation, this annual festive season will not be forgotten by all of us and the mood of the pre-celebration are still equally high as compare with the westerners.

For some of us, it's time to do some recollection of what we had been done or achieved in 2008, although some may or may not have that kind of practise but I must say that it's good to start to review ourselves in order to prepare us in moving on towards the even more challenging and tough year ahead which is just A WEEK before we say goodbye to year 2008.

In Kuching, we had just organised a small scale of Christmas gathering at Kenny Rogers. How about you guys out there? I guess you should have a great plan for family gathering or dinner somewhere.

Here I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and God Bless. Treasure every moment being together with your loved one, family, relatives, friends and colleague and always show appreciation to them anytime & any place.

HO HO HO......

This is my dream and I hope to celebrate a real White Christmas one day...... How about you?

My company shut down between 22 Dec until 5 Jan next year.

I am not going too far away. Mainly staying at home and some outing nearby.

Tonight we are going to have oven baked turkey and some roast pork.

This is the holiday break that I look forward too after a very hectic year. It's like swimming in the ocean and certainly found a piece of wood.

I wish you all have a wonderful Christmas break.

Will, is this consider unpaid leave ? FYI, Western Digital here (formerly Komag) will close down by March 2009 and affecting 1500 staff. A lot panicking...

I pray the situation will better than expected. It is good to be prepared well for this rainy days ahead...

Hi Mygreatbuds,

Most companies in Australia normally closed down for this period. There are three public holidays and the rest are annual leave.

Christmas is like Chinese New Year. People are doing Christmas shopping for clothing, toys and food few weeks before. Christmas eve shopping is exactly like Chinese New Year Eve shopping and Christmas dinner is similar to Chinese New Year Eve dinner where the whole family gathered for the very important occasion.

Tomorrow will be boxing day. Some shops like Ikea are already opened for business. This is known as post Christmas stocktake sales. Goods are 30-40% cheaper than pre Christmas.

This year the retail sales is even higher than last year. The government is giving money to family to boost the economy. One child in a family get one thosuand dollars and the money is banked in straight to the bank account.

The economy won't be getting better for the next three years. Now is the debt paying time. We are living on debt during the boom time. The bubble burst, the debt has to be settled before the economy recover.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Christmas reminds me more of Manila than the States.
