Good Bye and Rest In Peace, Frankie

It is with much regret and sadness that I inform everyone of the passing on of our dear friend Frankie. He passed away in Labuan on 2 May 2007 after complaining of chest pains.

Thadeus broke the news to us via a comment on the previous post.

Frankie and myself were classmates, we became close during the days when we were involved in the SHS Computer Club, together with Stephen Chung, Wong Yii Chiong, Kong Lieng Tee and Paul Ting.

I remember him as a happy go lucky guy, always ready with a joke and mischievious. Since he was pretty good at computers, I never thought he would end up doing law. But back in 1998 he called me up and told me he was working as a lawyer in Klang.

I lost touch with him after that and only got in contact with him last year via this blog. Frankie was a pretty avid blogger, and at the last count he had at least 5 going at the same time. You can see the blogs by going to his main blog.

His passing on was really a shock to me, I was looking forward to inviting him for the SHS88-90 20th anniversary reunion next year.

My condolences to his wife and his family, may God bless his soul.

Rest in peace, dear friend.

A sad news to hear.

As I learnt from Thadeus this morning that the funeral mass is scheduled this morning and his remains will be buried in Bukit Lima Catholic Cemetery.

Let us pray to Lord Jesus & Mother Mary for the repose of his soul.
May the perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace. Amen.

I haven't been on to the SHS blog for a while. Paul e-mailed the news to me.

Frankie was a friend from the "guys side" whom I could relate to during the short period I studied in SHS. We used to have really good conversations in the library room.

I have always thought of getting back in touch with him, but never took the effort to do so. His passing saddens me deeply.

My condolences to his family.

Here I have something would like to share with all of you.

On 1/5/2007, that was a double public holiday (Wesak & Labour Day), I was cleaning up my bedroom which filled with a lot of boxes of books, papers etc that I moved from my old house since May 2006. Its been a year I never touch the stuff until that day. While cleaning up one of the boxes full with photos album, I started to view each and every photos inside these albums. One of the albums was the photos which taken when I was in Form 2A8 during the teacher day. There were alot of our classmates in there such as Stephen Yii, Stephen Chung, Sie Chiong, Ariffin, Jacob Tiang, Barnabas Tiong, Robin, Darrel Albert Jolly, Saing etc...and one of them is Frankie Jeffery. At that moment, I was thinking where are my friends that had lost contact for a long time.

I did made a phone call to Frankie sometime last year when I saw his blog in our SHS blog. He informed me that he is working in Labuan as a lawyer. I asked him when he come to Kuching and he said maybe in September last year. He said will call me when he is in Kuching. Unfortunately the meet up didn't materialise last year......

That was the last time I keep in touch with him after so many many years......

Guys.

I am Hanafi Ali. 5Sc1 1988, 2A3 1985. I left SHS in 1989 after a month or so in Lower Six.

I just got the news about late Frankie today from his sister.

I don't know Frankie well, but I do remember him, being a prefect, a boy scout in form 2/3.

I am now in Miri, after having spent 11.5 years in Bintulu.

Keep in touch.
