Can't believe

I can't believe Wong Ho Leng didn't win.
I voted DAP in 2004, I voted DAP again yesterday.

Without BN reps from Sabah and SARAWAK, BN could not have formed the Federal Government.

Talk is cheap.

Believable or un-believable? It's everywhere. Politic or non-politic. SV's stronghold for 20+ yrs is gone overnight. Believable or un-believable? Can be both. Depends on how one argue.

This election result shows we are getting more sophisticated. It is no longer just TALK and TALK but rather TALK and ACT or else get boosted.

I think internet helps a lot in a way of getting info disseminated. I despise the way local newspapers present their news and views. It's very biased and it just make me think why the hell I buy those newspaper? We don't want to hear covered up stories but rather the truth out there. What is actually happening and so forth? Let the reader judge rather than justifing the outcome for reading pleasure. The 'pleasure' of reading has turned into hatred bcos we are no longer 3 yrs old kid that need to be told what to do and what ought not to do.

I hope the relevant parties should wake up by this so called political tsunami and reflect on their 'mistakes'. What we want is stability and not instability bcos everybody is at the losing end if the latter happens.

So congrats for those who win but make sure you do your job and for those who lose, cheer up and just wait for the next round.

I don't deny the faith that some mass media are reporting one side of the story. This is not balance ! I used to read this particular newspaper but not any longer as I feel that the news is bias.

The election result is known and it is time to invest. Those who have invested before the election, you may want to reinvest to bring down the total cost of investment. just my 2 cents.

Believe it or not....the trading of Bursa Saham has halted just a moment ago as it has dropped more than 10% in a single day..

Pray for peaceful transition and real implementation of promises made during the election as if not instability may crawl in, we will have to brace for real actions...

May I ask who own the media that covering the news? If the editors public the news wrongly....what will happen to them...sacks...

That's the power of news...

Just re-called that malaysiakini.com is still free for all till 10.3.08 thus utilised the last hour to flip thru almost all articles written and I must congratulate those who set up that website.

I feel so much relieved bcos after so many years of feeling my mouth being taped and not able to express view freely finally the day came on 8.3.08. We as Malaysian have spoken in one voice. We are disatisfied. Disatisfied not bcos of party but rather the way things are being handled and yet stated in the newspaper as otherwise. Felt very much cheated all the time. Puked all the time after reading newspaper.

It has been loudly spoken in the West. How about in Swak and Sabah? Nia mah, we are still very much behind in terms of standing on our own feet. The common opinion is that the average education level is still very low. But I still believe and will always believe if we continue to strive for democracy, we will succeed one day. The unity speaks when the few parties formed an alliance to battle the ruling party.

I wonder when is the time for Swakian to speak out loud? Time to stop the exploitation of our natural resources to be enjoyed by one family. For goodness sake, it's 21st century now and yet there are still so called human who worship this family like their guardian angel. It is disgusting to hear there are still people who have never voted nor registered as voters. Their opinion is that why vote after all the result is the same and even if the underdog wins, there's no difference! Ya, it may not make any difference but if you dun vote definitely there wont be any difference! I strongly urge all of u to encourage anyone you know to get registered as voter and make sure they vote in the next state elec. Choose wisely. Vote wisely. It's our state, so love it and vote for the right people so that a better place can be built for our next generation.

Hansac,

Love your caps on SARAWAK...hahahaha...
I recall this piece of lyric in a song:
Let me hear you say.."Yeah!"
[crowd yells "Yeah!"]
Let me hear you say.."Ho-oh"
[crowd yells "Ho-oh"]
Let me hear you say.."Ho,ho,ho!"
[crowd yells "Ho,ho,ho!]

Well, well, let's see what the white hair and his accomplices can achieve in next state election as i'm sure by then the opposition will propagandize to issue free land title on native customary land and to grant authomatic renewal of land title!!

It is a surprising result to see the Sarawakians support to the BN government. With the near land slide victory by BN, hope that the federal government will allow more funding for Sarawak and there is more transparency in the government administration.

Hi all,

It has been more than one month after the election. The election results shown that Malaysia is entering a new era with two parties government system which previously only occur in Kelantan but now has been spread to other states. Malaysians as well as the Federal government has to accept this political maturity. This is the type of democracy practised in US, UK, Audtralia etc and it works well.

What fascinate me is the actions taken by the political partied in the post election. The BN component parties concentrated in finding the cause for their failure to lose some states to the opposition and worry that some olf them will become irrelevant. Beside concentrating to form a working coalition state government, the opposition parties also busy on uncovering the faults of the previous government.

What I am trying to say is that within next two three years, much attention of the federal or states government will be focused on political stability and power redistribution. The economic development of the country will be ignored.

This is a very clitical time for Malaysia to strengthen its economy. Malaysia has lost the competitive of its maufacturing industry to countries like China, thailand, Vietnam and now emerging India. There is no high tech companies in Malaysia focusing in R&D that can compete with the Western world. The comidities that suatain the economic development now is LNG, Petroleum and palm oil.

Bearing in mind that LNG and petroleum reserve has a limit and the resources will run out in a very short time. Indonesia is also developing a large palm oil plantation which one day will eventually bring the price down.

From my opinion, the government eitheir states or federal shall focus on increasing competitive of the country to attract foreign investment, retaining the existing industries in the country and diversifying the economic to prevent the most severe recession that will hit the country since its independence.

Rome is built over many donkey years but can be destroyed in a very short period.

So, how is Malaysia of 50 years ?

Something to think about.

Sarawak is a very resourceful state. The state has been the economic powerful house of Malaysia since independence. The oil and gas revenue of Sarawak was used to built the once tallest bulding in the world in Kuala Lumpur and many infrastructure in Peninsula Malaysia. Nowaysday Malaysians still can enjoy the subsidised petrol thanks to the contribution of petrol production from Sarawak. Without the subsidy, a litre of petrol is more than RM4.00.

However Sarawakians has been raped of the petrol revenue with very little royalty going into the state. The people in the state still remain poor with the infrastucture well below par compared to other states in Malaysia and poverty remains high especially to the indigenious population.

Lets look at the world now. The world is soonner going to experience an energy crisis. The population of the world outgrow the production of traditional fuel. In addition, the rising of China and India will put a high pressure on the demand of fossil fuel. The petrol price has breaching US$110 per barrel. Countries without oil and gas reserve will facing energy shortage that will have severe impact to the economy.

Despite of the energy crisis, Malaysia is still blessed with Sarawak as the economic and energy power house. Sarawak has a capacity to generate 20 giga Watt of hydro electric power! Bakun dam is only unleashed only 10% of the capacity.

Is this a blessing or curse to Sarawakians? Sarawak only require 700Mega Watt of electricity! In view of the rising fuel price, the federal government will explore into the hydro electricity generation of Sarawak. Thousand of hectars of Sarawak forest will be drowned to msake way to supply cheap electricty which is channeled with undersea cable to the peninsula. Similar with the oild and gas production, there will be little benifit going to Sarawakians.

The indigeniuos people will again be a loser where their land lost to the water dam. People living downstream at the cities and down will suffer due to the lowering of water level. Houses whose foundation make up of bakau pile will be affected as wihtout water, bakau pile rot.

The future of Sarawak is n the hand of Sarawakians. Do we still prefer to be raped again and again?
