Negarakuku?

Check out the link below on the version of Negaraku sang by Mr Wee Meng Chee (http://www.namewee.com/)

Negarakuku: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NczMNH0dbEQ

He re-make our patriotic song, Negaraku into a rap version and now is being sued! http://felixker.com/news/negarakuku-got-sued/

Does that re-make shows he is a less patriotic person?

Paul.

The short answer for you is YES.

When singing or hearing the Negaraku song, there is a certain protocol that must be followed. You must stand up straight (if you are able, of course, kalau cacat tu, what to do). No fidgeting, no talking, no scratching your balls or crotches. Roseanne Bar did exactly that (scratching herself) when Star Spangled Banner was sung and she got a lot of flak for it (for being uncouth and uncivilized about it).

If I remember it correctly, Paul, you were a boy scout once (but in Form 2 only, after that you went missing). Surely you understand the sacrosanct/sanctification of certain thigs.

The National Anthem, the National Flag, the National Emblem, and many more that represent this country (or any country for that matter), are sacred things.

If and when a soldier dies (you can see this in American movies, or next door in Indonesia the same practice is errr, practiced), the family will receive the national flag that drapes the soldier's coffin.

So singing Negaraku in a non-gazetted manner (YES! Even the tune has to be gazetted and approved by the Parliament), will invite not just summons or being sued, but also ISA.

Now you know.

Dear all,

I have so far informed Magdalen Tan, Wong Hiong Hie, Sofiah Junaidi and Alice Wong of this blog.

At this point of time, I know that Hiong Hie has visited the blog and I know she'll be dropping a line or two as soon as it's possible. Hiong Hie is due for delivery early August.

Paul, I viewed the so-called rap video of NegaraKu....and we both know he did more than JUST rap the national anthem.

There are 101 things we can complain about our country...but there are equally numerous things we can be grateful for (read Pat's posting at his personal blog).

One thing I am adamant about, we're lucky to be living peacefully in a multi-racial country.

Yes.

He has bad "taste" and he is self to be blame.

Agreed with Hansac, national anthem is not to be mess with..

Again, please be extra wary/careful on our comments...remember dos' & donts' in blogging..

Hansac,
U've got amazing memory! My hand writing and boy scout...geez what else huh? I quit (not missing) scouting just after 1 term joining....can't stand the heat. But am glad I was there. I recalled a good friend of mine always...thud! Pengsan due to the heat during assembly time! There were couple of times, I was close to be the no.2. So, I call it QUIT.

Pat,
I do agree with hansac on his proposal abt this blogger add-ons. So?

Ivy,
See, I know u can do the networking. Keep it up!

To all:
Answer to my post, I leave it to the floor. I just have a good laugh after hearing the song. The singer is definitely playing with fire.
