There was an infamous 'soaking' incident at SMK Bawang Assan, Sibu, Sarawak in which about 200 female students were forced by the warden to squat in a murky pond for one hour. The reason of the punishment was to punish the students who repeatedly clogged the toilets with their sanitary pads. This action or punishment has drawn nationwide condemnation and protests from ministers and parents.
Everyone of us had been a student before and me either, I personally think that the punishment was too harsh and could seriously demoralise the students as a human. I do agreed that sometimes teachers do feel pressured, a few perhaps reach a point where they feel like 'bursting'but she had acted outside the official guidelines. As a warden or teacher, he/she was supposed to protect and assist the students beside being a substitute parent and not instead abused the power.
Maybe nowadays teachers need to be well trained and even proper counselling in order to adopt the correct approach in dealing with indiscipline among the students. Don't you think so that teachers must set fine examples to fellow students?? They are all trained as a professional and should act professionally in tackling the problem of indiscipline among students.
What would the proper action to be taken against the warden?

Well definitely this sort of punishment is harsh and totally in humane. But we mustn't forget this warden is a human as well and he is not professionally trained to clean up clogged toilet with sanitary pads. He has feeling and temper as well. It takes 2 hands to clap. The studs must definitely be hold responsible too. The issue therefore shd be EDUCATION starts from HOME.
The facts is many of our past teachers also did similar things to us...but we have never go to the media ???

Nevertheless kudos to those who have the courage to speak up...
I think the girls shud be made to clean the toilet...with their bare hands. Why should the teacher suffered at the girls convenience? It takes two to clap, as someone posted somewhere in the blog.

Personally I think the punishment is not severe.
I am in the army as a reservist soldier, YOU GUYS simply have no idea the kind of torture we have to go through during courses and trainings.

The girls must be taught a lesson. Otherwise they will not become good citizens. And they will continue to clog toilets with their sanitary pads and our friends like Ivy have to suffer.
We men do not face this issue very much. But then again, in hotels, we do used the same rooms as women. If those women clog the toilets, will you not be pissed?

i was one of the so-called victim of the cubit cubit thing....but not at private parts....only my belly....can thou imagine how pain it was?? If anyone of thou never experienced it b4, try thyself at home....:))
