From Michael........

Just wanna share this write up which has been circulating around the web since last year. There's truth in this write up which inspires me to post it and share it. The truth is local media doesn't really report the TRUE NATURE of happenings. Why are we as Anak Malaysia who lauded Malaysia Boleh not given the chance to judge by ourselves on events that happened around us? We are often being blinded by covered up stories of true happenings. I think it is high time at this IT era, the local authorities should STOP do cover up stories. We have Internet remember? We can surf for news about our country from overseas news. Just show us the truth and let us know what is really happening so we may vote the people who we think can lead our country instead of bunch of jokers who just make us laugh especially if you are following the Parliament proceedings.

Stop wasting money sending A PERSON to space where the RM95m can be used to subsidise diaries products, petrol or whatever that can help to minimise the current price hike. I strongly believe if money is properly channeled into our economy, the price hike won't be as bad as now.

This is getting sick because we know what is happening and yet there is little to be done. WHY? Time to stand up for our kids future, ladies and gentlemen? I don't mean to provoke anything here but I just want to see a balanced country for all races. Election is round the corner. Use your vote wisely. Check out their slogans and make sure they honoured their words said 5 years ago. BTW, have your area's road access being re-tarred? This is usually the case when nearing election time. Funny eh?

Just my two cents!

Actually commenting on others is easy than critising ourself or accept criticism from others.

When we are in authority not matter how small @ as a manager or executive or as parents to our kids, we must be able to say and do the right things - live by example. As people say Charity starts from Home, I think it is rightful to say, education starts at home.

Outside exposure is great and opinion is hard to evaluate at time especially when it is conflicting.

So, be cool and open (at least try hard)when considering those lies and spend more quality time to promote peace, harmony and happiness with our family and friends.

The sad fact and truth is that in this country not everybody can and want to agree with Michael Backman here. Even if they do, not all of them can/care/want to do anything about it. So, when u go into the polling booth (if u even care to go at all), what difference will it make.

So, my friend, when u said "use your vote(s) wisely" sounds to me "dont vote for BN". After all, u did call them "jokers".

Mr Tee said...

Dear anonymous,
I'm not pro-Govt nor pro-Opposition. Jokers in my statement were referring to MP in the Parliment who made me laugh by making childish statement.
So don't make me sound like I am fishing for certain party because I ain't.
BTW, if you do care to post your comment, I would appreciate if you can identify yourself.

I voted for DAP in GE2004 in Kidurong constituency.

I will vote for opposition again in any election.

I am not pro-opposition neither am I against the government.

So we should all put our money where our mouth is.

I do not agree that the fuel price should be subsidized. Get rid of that subsidy mentality, regardless of your race.

I am pro-environment. But I have three cars. I separate my thrash (plastics, glass, paper). I don't ask for plastic bag when I buy 1 or 2 things from the supermarket. I carry them with my hands.

I hate people who drive SUV (Harriers, Lexus, big huge cars that drinks petrol).

I don't call BN politicians "jokers", but I will call them other names (like a**holes and idiots and b*st*rds) because they are ruining MY COUNTRY.

The sad truth is, it was the Chinese who put the Malays in power in GE1999 and GE2004.

With Malays like me who voted for DAP/PKR/PAS (a good percentage of Malays are not UMNO supporters), SUPPORTED by the Chinese, we can easily have an alternative government.

I voted for DAP, Chinese in Peninsula should also voted for PAS. Do you think PAS is strong enough to have the Constitution changed? They will not have the 2/3 majority needed to change this country to an Islamic state, which I do not support.

Do not be afraid of PAS. I would call PAS and DAP as "jokers" though, because both of these jokers does not know how much they need each other in order to grab power. Bodoh these two people.

We all can think.

Mr Tee has posted a touchy topic, but I am sure he posted it on neutral grounds. We're all free to give our views as long as we remember to respect the creator of the blog and keep sensitivities at bay.

However, I do believe there's a general consensus from everyone in this blog that we identify ourselves if we are to speak our mind.

For the final time, anonymity is not appreciated. At least, not among well-meaning adults.

Once upon a time there was this Mr Warhammer and now there is this Mr/Ms/Mdm (or whatsoever title behold) Anonymous.

When will this ever end I wonder.

Perhaps it will never.

But I do and I really do hope if you ever treasure friendship among us or if you do like to be in our circle, please identify yourself at least with a name.

This is ain't funny. Is that you Mr Warhammer?

What are lies and what are truths? Can you tell? Can anyone else tell? History can be changed at a mere rephrase. History can also be conveniently forgotten or deleted at a mere press of a key. Truths may be ignored as we move to believe what we want to believe or are made to believe. In the end, what are you left with?

Anonymous:
It is the hope that a difference can be made by going to the polls...that's the difference -HOPE. Hope that whomever we choose will not let us down, regardless of party affiliation. But it seems like you have given up hope. Then again, you have a right to disagree as much as to agree.

IMHO, it is not so much idealist nor naivetes being involved but more of what a cornered dog will do...

Ivy:
Topics like these will always be touchy to some while bland [for want of a better word] to others. One man's meat another's poison? But hey, that's what makes for an interesting day or read, ain't it? :)

Mr. Tee:
Why do you have to explain yourself to an anonymous poster? So what if you're pro-govt? So what if you're pro-opposition? Do you also have to explain to the world why you need to go to the toilet? Hansac has a more affirmative action.

And no, it's not me. I ain't the anonymous poster. For all we know, it could be your wife or girlfriends or ex-girlfriend eager to piss you mad. And let me debunk some myths currently residing in your head:
1. Plenty of people speak/write good English.
2. I've never posted without a name, be it real or imaginary.

The Australian Federal election on Saturday give a 20 seats majority for Labor to form a new parliament.

The coalition headed by the outgoing Prime minister John Howard is a performing Government undenied by any australian. I still remember in the early 90's, Australians are struggle to keep their home as interest rose over 20%. There is high umemployment rate and hugh foreign debts. John Howard and his team of ministers have performed a miracle to transform the economy of Australian into an envy of the world. Australian is now the second most competitive country, no foreign debt and the economy is booming while the rest of the world is in recession.

The question is why such a great government is thrown out. The answer is simple. The Howard goverment is in power for 11.5 years and it is too long by Australians Standard. I guess this is also a way to maintain integrity and credibility of the government. I wonder when can Malaysians have this mentality. Malaysians are still harassed by the BN propaganda that the country will collapse if BN is not there. The divide and conquer tactic used by BN on its race based component parties capitalised on the fear of the voters of losing their right if BN is not in power. Another draw back is the opposition parties are far too weak to challenge BN and also fall into the path of BN where the parties are race based. When can we have a party for all Malaysians?

mygreatbuds said...

WH, the simple difference is the truth shall prevails and of course we may still suffer a lot while waiting for the truth to rise. We must not lose faith on the righteous though we may suffer a lot before it could defend us. Lies may instead give one upper advantage at first but the one who enjoys it shall need to pay back soon...(if can pay during one's life time..one is lucky but if one have to pay after life...that will be in deep down below)

Yes, material world can change just by words but what is done will never be erased...when facing our final judgement.

Whether one is pro-G or not, ask ourself what have we actually contributed to the society besie earning our perks from them ? It is real easy to comments on those in power and we do not like it, are we able to come out to stand to the real truth ? For this, I must agree with WH that whether you are in G or not, there are always truth and lies spreading around...black or white...keep changing like what is displayed in M.J's MTV.

So, I say...let's do our part sincerely.

Anonymous, I miss out your reply on "no politics in the blog", I must agree with you with this stand.

Mr. Tee, I would sincerely suggest that this blog of MB be deleted. I believe we would not want to be dragged into the main stream of political attention especially things are very rocky in our political arena in the past 3 weeks (if we follow the news).

But I will still vote for "no anonymous" as it is no fun. At least declare to us whether you are in our batch of SHS8890 with evidences provided.

Ivy said...

Gr8buds, you are too kind lah...it is being pure rude and un-respectable to say something (particularly on a sensitive issue) and not reveal yourself.

And just becos someone gives evidence that he/she is from the SHS8890 batch does not give them the right to stay anonymous. If everyone opts for anonymity for no apparent reason, the whole world would go chaos.

Agree that we send our votes to Pat.

Politic in a democratic country is transparent. Comments and remarks on the government performance is patriotic act and not a traitor.

There is no fear of speaking out and identify yourself if you love your country.

Unless the country is ruled by communist or dictator, critism, comments and evaluation of the government performance are open to all its citizens.

The government has no need to fear if it acts on behalf of the well being and interest of the country. The voters shall judge whether they are short changed by the government and decide whether the want to keep the present government for another five years or give someone else opportunity for a better turn around.

The opposition parties in Malaysia are still far too weak to challenge the present government. There is even doubt that they could form a coalition government if elected.

From my personal view, Malaysia still has to stick to BN for another 30, 40 years.

Both of you beat me to the no politics thingy. But I don't agree on voting though. Let's just be firm and keep this blog on neutral ground. There are plenty of sites floating on the I-highway for those interested in "constructive" political opinions. Or better still, open up a private chat room.

Having said that, I don't believe Mr.Tee's post warrants removal. Way I read it, he's just sharing - although it could have been better worded to reflect neutrality.

Anonymous: I stand by you on your right to stay anonymous for as long as you wilfully wish.

Ivy: Order and chaos exist in this world long before us. You can't separate them. Ying and yang. And in case you didn't know, the world is already in a mess.

If you see a woman being raped, would you just stood by?

Or is your reaction being dictated by who she is in relation to you? She is your sister, or of the same faith, or of the same race, or someone you know, or just a drunk woman who dressed too sexily in the back alley of a pub?

Where or what is your threshold of morality?

Would you take action now, by fending off the attacker, or yell for help, or call the police, or just talk about it in tomorrow's breakfast session with your workbuddies?

Now, if you see your country, to which you pledge your allegiance to, (immaterial really, whether you were born in it or not), being raped by a group of people, what shall you do? Hush your fellow countrymen/women into cowering into a corner so as not to rock the boat? Say it is the problem of another race and expect that race to solve their own problems?

Make your mark and take a stand.

This is not for you and me. This is for our children. This is for our descendants. This is for people who will come after us.

Or do we subscribe to the idea: "we were ragged before, let others after us be ragged too"???

We suffer, so let our children suffer too?

mygreatbuds said...

Hansac, you have great courage and indeed we must learn to sacrifice more than just words or emotional support.

Watching from aside without doing anything is worst than the fellas who commited the crime.

However, the fear factor is so great that one need to be encouraged and assured of his safety especially their own loved ones.

Joining rukun tetangga/neightbourhood watch is a step toward this solidarity.

BTW, what rank are you in the reserve force ?

....initially thinking of spending 5 mins on this blog checking for latest posting and in the end spent 25 mins catching up new comments read and re-read. Wow...missiles launched here and there!

U see, politics has always been an interesting issue. I for one always believe this shd be a more open issue for all rather than coffee shop topic and in the air.

Why can't we speak our voice fairly and freely, after all our vote count, right?

Pat: Politic - YES, Anonymous - NO

Warhammer,
Sometimes, your processor over-processed simple matter. Plenty of our friends with good Eng of course. But I didn't know you that well to judge your Eng. Keep your tongue within your mouth before someone step on it.

This topic is meant for sharing views only and not wagging war among ourselves nor prompting others to do so.

To contributors of this topic who think that I should strike it out, give your vote and I go by majority.

The comments make here are responsible as no personal attack where name is mentioned. It is a conclusive summary rather than the details of the crimes committed. These are facts that are published on the daily newspapers. I don't think it will attract any attention from authorities of concern. We are responsible in what we write.

I agree with what Hansac said. The education system in Malaysia and the mass media taught us that different view from the main stream politic is an act of treason to the country. We have to speak up and act on behalf of any wrong doing that is damaging the country.

Over the pass two months we witnessed mass demonstrations by lawyers, opposition politicians and Indians in the street of the capital to protest. They are men and women of courage. If they could publicaly walk to protest, what make us so coward to write?

Ir. Hanafi Ali said...

I like what William said:

"The education system in Malaysia and the mass media taught us that different view from the main stream politic is an act of treason to the country."

This is a democratic country (even in Communist China, now, you are allowed to criticize the local government if they are corrupted, wake up, people).

Mygreatbuds:

Sorry, I am not at all a courageous man. And I will tell you my rank after next year, when I will get my commission, ha ha.

mygreatbuds said...

When one touches on education in Malaysia, I beg to differ. I believe we have one of the best education system in this part of the world, when we can create so many "boleh" students and which includes those reading, writing and commenting here or now in overseas.

When one said about teaching about mass media...I do not think our teachers had taught us wrong and never talked about treason (pembelot)

How about this...says our teachers all train us from young age to start criticising the government and don't believe what is on the newspaper? What can we expect? Argument !

What else could you expect when teacher trying to set the mindset of young children...to start on political grounds ? chaos probably.

I believe our education is set on its best approach and neutral based on true morale. At least for all of us in SHS8890, I have not heard any of our teachers teaches us negative elements (I must say thank you for shaping my young mind then).

Hey...not only main stream media if you may allow me to be brunt..in life, almost anything else (including those posted blogs here) you would need to digest and evaluate the validity of the source..it is definitely difficult.

History taughts us...even own mother also can betray own sons/daughters vice versa etc...

Yes, we may not be so open like in the overseas...but this Colombo education system probably helps many Malaysia achieve better recognition if we compare to our surroundings (Hey, one may said..Singapore is much better, I could not disagree..but I shall look at the size of country and the quantity of people which has big difference)

On lighter note, there may be few nyamuk in the bed, but please do not burn the whole kelambu...sometime if they are not aedes...just let them suck a bit will not kill us...

Looking at big picture: If we are sincere enough to build this society that we love, I hope that all could contribute sincerely and transform our beloved country (rather than criticising when we are out of the system and worst without contributing to its progress when one have the opportunity and in the authority).

I have taught (part-time) at a Malaysian public university for three semesters, and my wife has taught at secondary schools for more than 8 years (1996-2006), and our education system now is rotting.

1988 was indeed an auspicious year (dragon, '88'). 1986 was the last year for English medium in Sarawak for MCE, and by and large, we were a product of an education system that is alien to what we have now.

William said...

I guess there is no certain right or wrong in one opinion on how the country is being governed. If majority of people think the system is workable in the country than the system is good and workable.

I mentioned eduaction in Malaysia as a reminder of me writting my BM essay for SPM. I have to put up a positive arguments that what the government policies are right. I wonder if I dare to go for the reverse, I am certainly failed in my exam. Even if the essay is written on class and if I dare to challenge the system, I will definitely be seem as traitor.

That is my own opinion and I certainly respect other opinion if they think otherwise.

Hope that you all will use your wisdom to vote for the righteous guy who will steer the country in the correct path.

mygreatbuds said...

Yalah Hansac...I cannot disagree that the standard for certain schools (not all) has indeed drop. Much needed to be done for better tommorow. Actually, it depends on the leadership...our Alam Mater has started regain top spot in Sibu when our ST became the principal...but then it is a bit weaken after he left to take up promotion post in the ED.

In our Bro. Albinus era...we are always onthe top of the world (not only Sibu..but fearsome thorough Sarawak at least whether in sport or education..

Again, in my earlier comment, I think you are a great person (including your wife) whom had sacrificed and experienced in contributing to our national system. Keep sharing this good side of you, I believe more will benefit.

To me, to be real teacher is indeed a noble profession. Once I have much wanted to be a teacher (but not materialise due to my quest for corporate ladder), and I hope I could contribute in one way or another to help our younger people through my current responsibilities...

Will, of course..lah..when you are in the family, it is norm that you cannot criticise your dad or mum unless you contribute to their foods what more we are at young age (our mind is pure like new sponge)...even yes, must do it subtlely...:)

Looking back today 28/4/2013 and a week to 5/5/2013, I see changes. First blog is not longer popular. Second is tremendous changes in people altitude. 6 years ago, most people still fear to speak out their opinion fears of political prosecution by those in power. Today we witness a lot of our friends who are afraid to voice out have become champion in supporting opposition in facebook. I hope to se changes in 5/5/2013 so that the corrupted and racist government be voted out and all ill gotten wealth return to the people. For myself, I have retired and Malaysia not longer means much to me. I have called Australia home.
