Contribution From The Heart For Our Alma Mater

One item that Pat has not reemphasized was the collection of fund to be donated to our Alma Mater. Frankly, I like the idea when it was brought up at the kopi-o corner at Puchong sometime back in Nov 2006 when Pat was also officially installed as the Chairman for Reunion 2008.

Well, it is a straightforward with no G string attached as sincere contribution is deeply appreciated and encouraged. I had for the last 1 week promoting the ideas to whoever I met (our schoolmates of 8890 of course..but definitely not like the China man on the street offering face reading service). So far, the response is encouraging, I have collected RM50.00 from Seng Yaw and Jacky Pui respectively this afternoon..so total is RM100.00.

Our modest aim is just to raise at least RM1,000.00 for the school (looks like it is just piece of cake...we could easily raise RM2,000.00). All the names of the contributors will be named in the letter to the current principal of SHS. Hey, there is no limit or requirement in the contribution from 1cent to unlimited...it is just from your heart...but for those who wish to donate 1 cent, he/she must do it before 31/12/2007 as if not, coming new year 2008, it may not be a valid currency denomination to use.

So what do we do with the fund ? As of now, I am proposing to buy reference books to be placed in the library. If more, then a desk top computer for the school ? On the 1st page of the book, we will put SHS Alumni 8890 chop to reflect our contribution....you may propose your ideas for final decision by our Chairman & committee...but as for now..our concentration is on fund raising.

So how do you pass the money ? well, for those not attending the Reunion (seriously only due to more important thing to do..like you are getting married in outstation etc)...you may pass the money to Pat, Ivy, Heroes or myself or those person you really trusted with your life and importantly he will attend the reunion 2008 to pass in the money. :)

For those attending the Grand Reunion 2008 on 8th February 2008, we will collect your donation there and then...cheque is also acceptable but not credit card or charge card.

Let's encourage each one to make this event a menaningful successful contribution from the bottom of our heart.
